A singular goal of our program is the active movement of precision health endeavors and accomplishments into basic sciences education and the public sphere. This comprises multiple areas of impact, from precision health academic and research support to educational talks and events for the lay community, as well as spotlighting innovative WashU faculty at public forums such as Academy of Science of St. Louis.

Precision Health Workshops

Dr. Joyce Balls-Berry leads our community events to educate on the topic of precision health. This is a series of virtual and in-person events produced for the St. Louis community and other ICTS partners.

Thank you for this experience. I am happy I attended. Informative!!

Academy of Science – St. Louis

Academy of Science St Louis

In 2019 ICTS Precision Medicine, with joint sponsorship from Siteman Cancer Center, the Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Research Center, and the Children’s Discovery Institute, partnered with Academy of Science – St. Louis to host “Genetics and Genomics Series” seminars and STEM Teens community workshops/tours. This partnership provided important information and educational content to the St. Louis lay community and young, “future” scientists about how biomedical genetic research impacts their health and what the future of genetic/genomic endeavors hold.
